Enjoy working and playing with infants and toddlers? Know someone else who does? Join our team at Healthy Toddlers Care!
We are seeking students at SDSU for summer, spring, and fall semesters who are child development majors and other –related majors who are looking to gain experience with children.
We offer students the opportunity to intern, conduct research or assistant in any child development portfolio or senior projects. Here, students experience and learn how an organization such as a large (capacity of up to 14 students) family childcare home functions on a daily basis as well as assist in the following:
• Assist teachers with child care responsibilities in groups of preschoolers or infant/toddlers.
• Assist the teachers during activities and projects, including outdoor play times, meal times, rest times, cleaning, and teaching self-help skills.
• Flexible work schedules; we would like students to work a minimum of 3 to 4 hours a week. We prefer 1 to 2 days a week but we understand students demanding schedules.
The primary age group served in this organization is 2 (two) months to 5 (five)-years-old. There are presently four infants who are being cared for. Our family childcare home is open between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. Current enrollment is 12 (twelve) students. Finally, students are required to submit a valid negative tuberculosis skin test in order to volunteer/intern.
Please contact Bridgette Moss at 619-582-4557 for more information and to schedule a tour of our location and learn more about the program that we have to offer our community and the families we serve.
