Summer Youth Intern Agreement & Parent Consent Form
Welcome to the Team!
To our Parents:
Thank you for sharing your child's time and talents with us this summer! We are thrilled to partner with you to provide a safe, structured environment where your young leader can build confidence, learn accountability, and discover the joy of mentorship. We've designed this program to be flexible for working families, allowing your child to gain valuable experience while fitting seamlessly into your daily schedule.
To our Young Interns:
Welcome! By stepping up to be a summer intern, you are becoming a role model. The toddlers will look up to you, copy your actions, and love playing and learning with you. We are excited to see your leadership shine!
To accommodate working families, we offer two flexible, part-time tracks. Please check the schedule option that works best for your family's routine:
Anticipated Daily Hours:
Drop-off Time
Pick-up Time
Section 2: Daily Naptime Break & Personal Belongings
Because our interns work hard alongside our team, a dedicated daily break is built into their schedule during the toddlers' afternoon naptime (typically 2 hours per day).
Meals & Snacks: Interns are responsible for bringing their own daily lunch, snacks, and drinks.
Downtime Activities: During this quiet 2-hour block, interns are encouraged to relax. They are welcome to bring a book or a personal tablet/device to use strictly during this break time.
Device Rule: Personal electronics must remain put away in their bags during active program hours when working with the children. Healthy Toddlers Care is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items.
Section 3: Program Acknowledgement & Title 22 Compliance
I give permission for my child to participate as a youth volunteer intern at Healthy Toddlers Care for the Summer 2026 term.
I understand and agree to the following program guidelines mandated by California Title 22 Child Care Licensing:
1. Direct Supervision: My child will act strictly as a volunteer helper and will always be under the direct visual supervision of a fully qualified Adult Child Development Teacher.
2. No Solo Supervision: My child will never be left alone with enrolled children, nor will they assist with sensitive, private tasks such as diapering, toileting, or isolated medical care.
3. No Ratio Inclusion: My child is not an employee and will not be counted toward the facility's legal staff-to-child operating ratios.
4. Health Standards: I agree to provide proof of negative TB clearance and required state immunizations (Measles, Pertussis, and Influenza) prior to their first day.
Section 4: Medical Treatment Authorization & Liability Waiver
In the event of an illness or medical emergency involving my child during their internship hours, I authorize the management of Healthy Toddlers Care to secure necessary medical treatment, including first aid or transport to an emergency care facility. I accept financial responsibility for any medical treatment rendered.
I hereby release, waive, and hold harmless Healthy Toddlers Care, its directors, and staff from any liability, claims, or demands arising out of participation in this volunteer program, except in cases of gross negligence.

Summer Youth Intern Code of Conduct
Welcome to the team! Being a youth intern at Healthy Toddlers Care is a big deal. The toddlers look up to you like a cool older brother or sister. Because they will copy everything you say and do, we hold our interns to a high standard. Read through our "Five Leadership Rules" below, and sign at the bottom to show you're ready for an amazing summer!
🌟 1. Be a Bright Role Model
• Positive Energy: Come in with a smile! Use kind, encouraging words with the children and the teachers.
• Watch Your Language: Always use gentle, positive, and polite language. No slang or grown-up topics around the little ones.
• Dress for Success: Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little messy with paint or playground dirt. Closed-toe shoes (like sneakers) are required so you can safely run and play.
🧸 2. Keep Our Little Friends Safe
• Stay in Sight: You must always be in the same room or outdoor space as a qualified adult teacher. Never take a toddler anywhere (including the bathroom) by yourself.
• Gentle Hands Only: Let the teachers handle any heavy lifting, diapering, or safety discipline. Your job is to guide with kind words, high-fives, and gentle high-energy play.
• Eyes on the Kids: When you are on the floor or the playground, your focus is 100% on keeping the toddlers happy and safe.
📱 3. Smart Device Rules
• Active Hours = No Screens: Your cell phone or tablet must stay completely zipped inside your backpack while you are helping with the children.
• Naptime Is Your Time: During the 2-hour afternoon naptime break, you are welcome to use your phone, tablet, or read a book! Just remember to pack them back up securely before the toddlers wake up.
🍏 4. Lunch & Snacks
• Pack It Up: You are responsible for bringing your own lunch, snacks, and a water bottle every day you work.
• Fuel Your Day: Helping toddlers takes a lot of energy! Make sure to eat your lunch during naptime so you're ready for afternoon fun.
🤝 5. Ask Questions & Have Fun!
• We Are a Team: If you ever don't know what to do, if a toddler is crying, or if you feel overwhelmed, just ask a teacher! We are here to help you learn and grow as a leader.
