Culturally Responsive Learning โ Baked Into the "How" and "Why"
We are not building a single "Cultural Studies" elective. We are building a curriculum where representation lives inside every subject. A student learning Physics sees the architectural genius of the Great Mosque of Djennรฉ. A student in Biology learns the ethnobotany of Indigenous healers alongside modern medicine.
Representation is not an add-on โ it is the foundation of how content is framed, contextualized, and delivered.
The Mirrors & Windows Philosophy
Every lesson is designed with two lenses: Mirrors โ where students see themselves, their heritage, and their communities reflected in the material โ and Windows โ where they gain a meaningful view into the lives, histories, and brilliance of others.
Students analyze load distribution and structural integrity through the ancient mud-brick architecture of one of the world's largest earthen buildings โ built entirely without modern engineering tools.
Alongside modern pharmacology, students study how Indigenous healers across the Amazon, West Africa, and the Pacific Islands identified and used plant compounds โ many of which became the basis of today's medicines.
Scholars like Al-Khwarizmi laid the groundwork for algebra. Students explore geometric patterns in Islamic tilework to understand symmetry, tessellation, and ratio โ not as abstract concepts, but as living art.
Onsite Support + Online Learning, Unified
Our Hybrid program blends the flexibility of a state-aligned asynchronous curriculum with hands-on, instructor-facilitated onsite sessions โ giving students the best of both worlds.
- Students learn at their own pace, anytime
- Onsite instructor available for 1:1 support
- QR check-in syncs attendance across both environments
- State-compliant instructional minute tracking

Polynesian wayfinding techniques โ how Pacific Island navigators crossed thousands of miles using stars, waves, and bird patterns long before GPS.
HTC Global Scholars: The Hybrid Learning Collaborative
Understanding our model and how families fund their scholar's education
Our Model
HTC Global Scholars operates as a Private School Hybrid Collaborative. We combine the flexibility of an advanced online curriculum with the stability of a high-support, onsite learning environment.
Private School Status
By enrolling, your student joins a private learning community dedicated to cultural representation and career-focused excellence. This status gives us the academic freedom to infuse core subjects with the multicultural foundations and inventions often left out of traditional state-run curricula.
Funding Your Scholar's Education
While we operate independently, our families often utilize the following options to offset costs:
Charter School Vendor Funds
We partner with many Homeschool Charters as an approved service provider. Funds may be used to cover curriculum and tuition costs.
529 Educational Savings
Use your tax-advantaged 529 plan funds for private Kโ12 tuition.
Childcare Tax Credits
Families with children under 13 may qualify for the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit for our onsite supportive services.
